Our orphan picture

Sent to school unaware that school photos were going to be made. Nor had she practiced how to smile for these kinds of picture. I think to date, this is my very favorite picture of Anna Rosalie as she is making an attempt to comply with what the photographer is asking her to do and believe me, this child is not compliant to requests; which is why we love her so much!!!!!!!!!!

What does Family look like?

As I looked at these pictures today of my son on his visit home last year, with his two older sisters and the children of all, I was stunned at the reality of it, and what family really looks like in this day and time. In the picture, Saul sits with his 1/2 sister who he had only met 6 or 7 years before and his step-sister, later to become his 1/2 sister by his adoption, and the children; his one and their 3. I looked at this and said to myself, "anything is possible."

To write about the history of this group would be a novel for certain. The story of each grown child and how they entertwine really would be a best seller. How each smiles and overcomes to "become" a responsible, loving, person is nothing short of a marvel. Perhaps, one day, with permissions, someone will find the courage to write about it.
